The Third Biennial International Conference on Malaysian Chinese Studies, organized by the Centre for Malaysian Chinese Studies (CMCS), will be held on 28 and 29 May 2016 (at Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur). The conference aims to cultivate the study of Malaysian Chinese, share latest research findings, promote academic exchanges and grasp the new research trends.

Details of the Third Biennial Conference are as follow:

Contemporary Malaysian Chinese Society and the China Factor

 
2. Conference Sub-theme
 

a.

The development and transformation of China and the 20th century Malaysian Chinese.
  b. The influences of China factor to the Malaysian Chinese politics, economy, trade, culture, education and society.
  c. The opportunities and impacts of China’s model to the Malaysian Chinese society.
  d. Contemporary Chinese study in China and Malaysia.

4. Submission Guidelines
 

a.

The content of the papers is the sole responsibility of the author. Chinese and English papers shall not exceed 15,000 and 10,000 words respectively. 
  b. Please submit titles, abstracts (about 500 words) and personal details (about 150 Chinese words or 300 English words) with your registration form to the Secretariat Department no later than 30 November 2015.
  c. All submitted abstracts will undergo an initial review process. Selected applicants will receive notification of acceptance before 31 December 2015.
  d. 40 papers will be selected in this conference. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted are requested to submitted full paper electronically no later than 31 March 2016. Any delayed or no submission of paper will be deemed as a cancellation.
 
5. Conference Language
 

Papers can be written and/or presented in Chinese or English.

7. Transport and Accommodation
 

Organizer is responsible for arrangement. All participants should pay for their own transport, air ticket and accommodation.

 
8. Registration fee
 

a.

Presenters: All presenters are sponsored by organizer and thus free of charge.
  b. Conference attendants:
( i ) members of Centre For Malaysian Chinese Studies/Students: RM 180
