The Second Biennial International Conference on Malaysian Chinese Studies, organized by the Centre for Malaysian Chinese Studies (CMCS), will be held on 20 and 21 June 2014 at the HELP College of Arts and Technology, Kuala Lumpur. The biennial conference will bring together, both local and international academicians, to share their latest research findings on Malaysian Chinese.

The second conference, which is sponsored by the Mr. Tan Kai Hee, the managing director of Hai-O Enterprise Bhd and the venue sponsored by HELP University is organized by CMCS as a biennial international academic event.

a. Developments and methodologies of Malaysian Chinese studies
b. Clan associations, new villages, immigrants and community in Malaysian Chinese studies
c. The Chinese in modern and contemporary social, economic and political issues in Malaysia
d. The Chinese migrates and re-migrates
e. The Malaysian Chinese literature, arts and cultural identity in the  post-May 13 era
f. The Chinese education, religions and folk worships after Malayan Independence

 
3. Submission Guidelines
 

a The content of the papers is the sole responsibility of the author. Chinese and English papers shall not exceed 15,000 and 10,000 words respectively.
b. Selected papers will be considered for publication.
c. The deadline for submitting abstract of the papers is 30 November 2013. Please submit titles,  abstracts (about 500 words) and personal details (about 300 words) with your registration form . All abstract of the papers will be subject to a review process and those accepted will be notified accordingly.
d. Participants are encouraged to form their own panel comprising 4 members. One of the         members have to be elected as coordinator, responsible for collecting members’ abstracts and write a description (about 500 words) regarding to four topics selected. The description and abstracts are to be sent to secretariat of the conference.
e.  Full papers should be sent through e-mail to the organizer by 30 April 2014.

8. Transport and Accommodation
 

All participants (including paper presenters) shall pay for their own transport and accommodation. The organizer will assist in hotel reservations, the details of which will be provided in a forth coming Second Notice. Participants are also expected to arrange for their own international or domestic flights.
